You can now apply for a UK passport by simply asking Alexa or Google Assistant to do it for you.
A range of public services are becoming available through smart speakers such as Amazon’s Alexa or Google’s Home Assistant. Following a six-month trial project, users can now access more than 12,000 pieces of official information from the Gov.UK website just by using their voice.
Information available from the services range from details on the National Minimum Wage, Tax Rates, and how to apply for free childcare.
Government officials have said the range of services could be soon extended to cover such things as renewing road tax or finding out information on getting married.

Minister Olive Dowden added that “this is all about making life easier for people who need to access information about government services”
