Passengers on a British Airways flight were treated to KFC after the airline was unable to provide customers with regular in-flight food.
British Airways (BA) cabin crew dished out the fried chicken straight from the Colonel’s bucket to hungry travellers on a long-haul flight from the Caribbean to the UK.
The 12-and-a-half hour flight from the Turks and Caicos Islands faced some issues with its normal meal service over the weekend so resorted to the unusual alternative, with there being limited meal options at the airport.
Footage showed BA staff with tongs and buckets of the fast food delicacy as they worked the aisles of the aircraft – however, not everyone was pleased with the portions.
Passenger Andrew Bailey tweeted that BA were “giving some lucky passengers one piece of chicken”.
He added: “The container with the plane catering wasn’t chilled so all thrown away!!”
Another passenger jested: “Please sir, can I have some more.”
On Instagram, users criticised that vegans were not catered for and questioned if the drumsticks and thighs were halal.

Not everyone was so harsh though, with some praising the crew’s efforts.
One said: “Kudos to the crew. They did what they could do to serve their customers.”
In a light-hearted statement, BA said: “Our teams sprung into action and made sure our customers had something to eat.
“We apologise to customers that their full meal service was not available and we had to wing it on this occasion.
“We’re sorry if we ruffled any feathers.”
After the flight landed, passengers were provided with a refreshment voucher.
Long-haul BA meals generally consist of a starter, main course and a dessert, with snacks and a second meal on longer flights.
