The remnants of Hurricane Lorenzo are expected to bring gales to the UK as the Met Office issues a yellow warning for wind.
The warnings for wind are in place across parts of Northern Ireland, South West England and Wales on Thursday and Friday.
The weather could cause power loss, as well as disrupt travel in those yellow warning areas.
The storm is expected to bring winds of up to 60mph (96kmph) to Northern Ireland on Thursday in coastal areas, with winds increasing to 80mph (128kmph) in Ireland, according to Met Eireann.
Met Office figures show that average UK rainfall was 27% above average for September – 122.4mm (12.24cm) of rain fell during the month, compared to an average of 96.4mm (9.64cm).

Despite flash flooding across the country earlier this week, the Environment Agency declared a drought in Hertfordshire and north London on Tuesday.
Met Eireann has issued an orange wind warning for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick for Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
The storm is “relatively slow moving”, according to Met Office spokesperson Nicola Maxey, but it is due to hit Wales on Friday morning, which could cause delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
“We could see gusts of 60mph on the coast of South West England and South Wales,” Ms Maxey said.
“As it (the storm) moves across the Atlantic it is weakening, and as it moves across England it will weaken.”
Rain is forecast for much of England and Wales on Friday, the Met Office say, while the weather on Saturday is expected to pick up and be brighter, with some scattered showers.
