UK winner of £123m EuroMillions jackpot comes forward

A EuroMillions player has come forward to claim the £123m jackpot that was scooped by a single winner.

Last Tuesday’s prize of £123,458,008 prize was the third biggest in the draw’s history.

The winning numbers were 25, 27, 39, 42 and 46, with Lucky Stars 11 and 12.

The owner of the winning ticket matched all of the seven numbers.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “This is the third biggest win ever on The National Lottery and we now look forward to helping the ticket-holder start to enjoy their new found wealth.

“By buying a ticket for EuroMillions or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise money for good causes.

“On average, around £30m is raised every week for projects across the UK, both big and small, including funding everything from local community projects to preserving the nation’s heritage.”

Camelot said the prize would be paid out and the ticket-holder will then decide whether to go public and share their news.

It said there would be no information on whether the winner is an individual or part of a syndicate unless they decided to go public.

Tuesday’s win is the fourth EuroMillions jackpot win in the UK this year.

Patrick and Frances Connolly from Northern Ireland won the £114.9m EuroMillions jackpot in the draw on New Year’s Day, Ade Goodchild banked £71m in March and an anonymous ticket-holder bagged £35.2m in April.

The biggest ever winners in the UK are Colin and Chris Weir from Largs who won £161m in July 2011.
