Chaplins Bar in Benidorm to be investigated by Spanish authorities for “Rent-A-Dwarf”

State prosecutors in Alicante province have started an investigation into a bar popular with Brits for alleged hate crimes. The investigation was launched following a complaint from Cermi, an organisation representing people with disabilities in Spain.

Chaplins Disco Pub in Benidorm is the main focus of the investigation because of it’s ‘midget stripper show’

Chaplins claims on social media that is has “the best range of naughty cabaret Benidorm has to offer” and includes pictures of a man with dwarfism in a g-string riding a segway type vehicle.

Also on offer is “Rent-A-Midget”. The bar offers stag parties the chance to “handcuff your stag to a midget for the night”

A legal adviser for the northern Spain based ALPE Achondroplasia Foundation (which support families and children with a form of short-limbed dwarfism called achondroplasia) said that he believes the bar is contravening international human rights treaty on the rights of people with disabilities.

The outcome of the investigation is pending.
