British pensioner sentenced to 25 years after a brutal hammer attack

A courthouse in Denia has sentenced a 72-year-old British man to 25 years in prison after he carried out a brutal attack on his sleeping stepson.

Robert Ulf fractured the skull of his 20-year-old stepson whilst he slept and then used the same hammer on his wife after she went to help her son. The attacker also tried to suffocate his wife.

The accused is led into the courthouse yesterday.

Ulf initially denied all charges, saying he ‘couldn’t remember’ the attack despite being able to recall the police arriving at his family home and arresting him whilst he was covered in blood and holding the hammer.

Three judges dismiss the defence plea of not guilty due to mental faculties being impaired.

The Mother and Son have both received support for post-traumatic stress disorder and both made their testimonials alongside support professionals.

The pair were subjected to mental abuse over a period of ten years as well as physical abuse. The mother told the court that her husband had called her and her son “pieces of shit”, “worthless” and the son would “never amount to anything”.
