A British rock-climber has been rescued by firefighters after falling 10 metres on Spain’s Costa Blanca.
The woman, who’s identity is not yet known, suffered a cranioencephalic traumatism, hip rupture, severe blows to the face and other contusions to the body, according to the Alicante’s Fire Brigade.
The incident happened at 1pm on Monday (April 8) at the Morro de Toix headland after the woman reportedly fell into a chasm and was rescued, still alive, by an Alpha 1 helicopter team.
The woman was taken to Benidorm, where an ambulance took her to a Villajoyosa hospital.
In January this year a man died while rock-climbing in the same spot, and in December 2017 another British climber was wounded after falling five metres
